Digi scents a California-based company, has created the Smell personal fragrance synthesizer. The driver for this small device is included and connects to your computer via a serial port. The smelling screen can create a localized odor distribution in a two-dimensional screen. The generated odor distribution acts as if there were an odor source on the screen and causes the user to feel that the odor is coming from a particular area of the screen.

iSmell:

It uses consumable cartridges that can be used and replaced in the same way as inkjet printers. The iSmell device scans a digital smell file and creates a scent from 128 chemicals in a cartridge. After that, it blows into the air using a fan.

Cartridge:

You can send signals from your computer to activate the cartridge, which will contain either synthetic fragrances or natural oils. A cartridge currently holds 128 chemicals. These oils are similar to an inkjet printer. They form the core for a replacement cartridge that is inserted into the company’s iSmell device.
